Helsinki Fashion Week will be arranged for the second time in its history. You may have thought that HFW has gone for ages but you are deadly wrong. Finland has a long fashion history but also some bad luck. During the 1980’s Finland's fashion industry was the largest one in Nordic countries but the market environment changed and Finland became the underdog. However, there is a desire to build new brands, and fashion designers have the required passion to market their creations with proudness.
In 2016 the event raised positive attention internationally. Vogue, GQ, Elle, Glamour, L'Officiel Hommes and many other famous media brands covered the event. An amazing start to a new event. It skyrocketed to the top immediately. HFW is not a massive event like New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week or Paris Fashion Week. It is a little bit smaller but it has big ideas for creatives. That is the reason why it is so exciting.
This year’s Helsinki Fashion Week will be around eco-fashion and technology. Designers and brands will gather to Finland from around the world. Therefore, HFW will be even larger and interesting. The event will be arranged at Amos Anderson Museum in the center of buzzing Helsinki between 22nd and 26th of July. For more information, please visit http://www.helsinkifashionweeklive.com.
